Margo Price has surprise-released a new mixtape titled Days of Unrest, according to a report from Rolling Stone. The collection features the singer's renditions of protest songs and one original track, arriving just before Independence Day.

The mixtape includes a cover of Woody Guthrie's "Deportee (Plane Crash at Los Gatos)," which features Joan Baez and Memphis Mariachi. Price has performed the song live for years, including at the 2025 Newport Folk Festival. "I’ve been singing ‘Deportee (Plane Wreck at Los Gatos)’ for a couple decades now, so it’s only fitting that I would cover it on Days Of Unrest," Price said in a statement. She noted Baez's performance of the song with Bob Dylan on the Rolling Thunder Revue tour was a key inspiration.

What songs are on the mixtape?

The tracklist spans several classic protest songs. Alongside "Deportee," Price covers Bob Dylan's "Maggie's Farm," Charlie Daniels' "Long Haired Country Girl," the Spanish-language folk song "De Colores," and Blaze Foley's "Oval Room." In a statement, Price said "Oval Room" was written by one of her songwriting heroes from the Austin, Texas music scene, Arkansas native Blaze Foley, about President Ronald Reagan in 1984. The mixtape also contains the Price original "Can’t Stand Still" and a three-part instrumental titled "San Marcos," which she wrote with her partner Jeremy Ivey and recorded with her band the Price Tags.

Days of Unrest is available now on streaming services. According to the report, some proceeds from the mixtape's vinyl release will benefit the Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project.
