Elijah Blue Allman's Wife Calls Off Divorce, Wants a Say in Cher's Conservatorship Bid
Marieangela King is back in the picture, filing a declaration in the ongoing legal drama over her husband's estate.
What happens when a mother's legal bid to protect her son collides with a wife's vow to stand by her husband? The drama in Elijah Blue Allman's life just got a new chapter.
Marieangela King, Allman's on-again, off-again wife, has called off her most recent divorce petition and filed a declaration in the ongoing conservatorship case, Page Six exclusively reports. Cher initiated the bid for conservatorship of her son's estate in Los Angeles Superior Court in April, following his string of arrests in New Hampshire earlier this year.
In her declaration, King detailed the marital strife. "Elijah and I have experienced challenges within our marriage, many of which were related to his struggles with substance abuse, mental health issues and the consequences that followed," she wrote. She acknowledged that after his arrest, she filed for divorce, feeling "emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed and believed separation was necessary."
But now, she says, "circumstances have changed." King cited "Elijah’s placement through the New Hampshire court system into a structured treatment environment" and her "continued concern for his well-being" as reasons to "reconsider the dissolution proceedings." She has fully dismissed her divorce petition, citing her 2013 marriage vows.
King, who stated that Allman "has a drug problem," argued that "decisions regarding his future should be made with a complete understanding of his current circumstances, treatment, support system and wishes." She claimed she has been shut out of key documents in the conservatorship case and requested "an opportunity to review" them, insisting the outcome "substantially affect both [her] husband and [their] marital rights and interests." She believes she possesses "unique and firsthand knowledge" of his situation and asked the court to "consider [her] position and permit [her] to be heard."
The move sets up a potential clash between Cher's efforts and King's desire for involvement. While King's actions and statements are confirmed via her court filing, the ultimate resolution of the conservatorship case and the state of Allman's recovery remain unconfirmed. This is a developing story.
