Billie Joe Armstrong Announces New Signature Epiphone Guitar and Marshall Amp

Both products, which nod to the stripped-down, high-impact guitar tone that has defined his career, are available for purchase now.

The announcement arrives during a busy period for Armstrong, who is also promoting the upcoming Green Day film Nimrods and performing with his side-project band, The Coverups. The new gear directly translates the sonic cornerstones of Armstrong's three-decade career into instruments fans can own.

The two new items are designed to capture the essence of Armstrong's iconic sound.

• Epiphone Billie Joe Armstrong Les Paul Junior (Radiant Red): A limited-edition guitar with a single-cutaway mahogany body, a single Epiphone P-90 PRO pickup, and a deliberately simple control layout of master volume and tone knobs. It retails for $649.
• Marshall 1959BJA Artist Signature Amplifier: Marshall's first artist signature amp model in 14 years. Based on the handwired 1959HW platform, it includes a custom "Dookie Mod" inspired by the guitar tone developed for Green Day's 1994 album. It features a baby-blue covering as a tribute to Armstrong's early guitar, "Blue."

"I’m so overjoyed to have my own signature Marshall amp," Armstrong said in a statement. "These amps have been a part of my musical life, from my heroes down to little old me. Turn it the f— up!"

The Gear's Connection to Green Day's History

Both pieces of equipment are deeply rooted in Armstrong's musical journey. The Epiphone model is a faithful recreation of the Les Paul Junior style he has favored for decades, built around what the company calls the "straightforward formula that has always defined great punk rock: one pickup, two knobs, and absolutely no distractions." It includes a reproduction of his signature on the headstock and comes with a custom black hardshell case featuring a leopard-print interior.

A Busy Time for Armstrong and Green Day
