According to Just Jared, the couple was spotted enjoying a late lunch on Wednesday, July 8, at a Mexican restaurant in Ryan Reynolds's home country of Canada. The 38-year-old actress and the 49-year-old actor were seen on the restaurant's rooftop, per a report from TMZ.

Sources shared that Reynolds left first, walking to a nearby parking lot, while Lively exited shortly after with two assistants. The group then went shopping at a boutique close by.

Just a few hours later, the legal saga surrounding the film adaptation of It Ends With Us took a public turn. Justin Baldoni, who reportedly directed the film and stars opposite Lively, and his wife Emily released a video statement. It was their first public comment in two years, following the settlement of the lawsuit. In the video, Baldoni explained their long silence, saying, "It just felt like every time we went to make a video like this, we wanted to speak, something was telling us not to. It just didn’t feel like the right time, and we were talking about it and feeling into it and praying about it."

The legal case had a significant financial outcome for Lively. According to Just Jared, the judge ruled that she was entitled to attorneys' fees and litigation costs related to the case.
