Paige DeSorbo Shuts Down Engagement Rumors Sparked by a Laughing FaceTime Screenshot

Paige DeSorbo confirmed she is not engaged, the Bravo alum said on the Friday, July 17, episode of her "Giggly Squad" podcast. The speculation began with an anonymous tip posted to DeuxMoi claiming she had gotten engaged in Italy; an innocent screenshot from her co-host then poured fuel on it.

The Screenshot That Started It All

Hannah Berner, 34, posted a screenshot of a FaceTime call where DeSorbo, 33, was laughing. "We were FaceTiming, as we do, and I smiled and Paige was dying laughing. It brings me joy to see you laughing so hard at my ugly face. So, I screenshotted it and I posted it so innocently." Social media users quickly interpreted the joyful image as an engagement announcement from DeSorbo. The reality star, however, was completely unaware of the post. "So, you started a rumor about me while I was, like, literally having IBS symptoms," she reportedly joked with Berner, "Did I do something to you? … My mom was getting text messages, she was like, ‘Wait, what?'"

The timing was especially awkward because DeSorbo's family was celebrating her brother Gary's actual engagement during the same vacation. "My mom was getting text messages," DeSorbo said, noting her future sister-in-law doesn't use Instagram and missed the online chatter completely.

According to Us Weekly, DeSorbo was reportedly "quietly dating" a sports marketing executive. She reportedly confirmed their exclusive relationship to the outlet in February. While the couple's status is reported, the source of the latest rumor was just a case of a laugh being mistaken for a life update.
