Oliver Stone has paid tribute to his longtime producer Moritz Borman, who died on July 1 at age 71, according to Deadline.

Borman was a veteran Hollywood producer who collaborated with Stone on several films. He produced the director's historical epic "Alexander," as well as "World Trade Center," "W.," "Savages," and "Snowden."

Stone shared a statement remembering his friend and colleague. "Moritz Borman produced and was instrumental in allowing us to make Alexander in 2004," Stone said. He added, "He was both a close friend and a great producer who rarely brought attention to his craftsmanship in all things. He will be greatly missed."
