Mary Kate Golding, a set decorator for shows including "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," died Tuesday in Queens, N.Y. after being stabbed, according to Variety. She was 34.

Golding was a New York City-based professional whose credits also included "Goosebumps," "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," and the 2025 Netflix docuseries "Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer," as reported by Deadline.

Police responded to a 911 call at the couple's Astoria apartment just after midnight on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. The NYPD statement said officers found a 34-year-old female victim with a stab wound to the back. Emergency medical services pronounced her deceased at the scene.

A few hours later, around 6:39 a.m., police were called to Astoria Park. There, they discovered Golding's husband, Joseph Azzaretto, 33, unconscious and unresponsive. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Law enforcement sources told The New York Post and other outlets that the man found in the park apparently died by hanging. A murder-suicide is suspected, according to multiple media reports.

The couple's 11-month-old son was found at their home and was not harmed.
