What does a wedding anniversary feel like when one half of the couple is gone? Kelly Osbourne offered a poignant glimpse this week, marking her parents' first anniversary since her father's death with an open letter to her mother.

On July 4, Kelly, 41, took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message with Sharon Osbourne. Ozzy died on July 22, 2025, at age 76.

"Today feels different," Kelly wrote, according to E! News. "A day that was once filled with celebration now carries a quiet ache. This is your first wedding anniversary without Daddy by your side, and I can only imagine how heavy your heart must feel."

Kelly reflected on her parents' long union — Sharon and Ozzy married on July 4, 1982 — and their enduring bond until his passing last year. She offered comfort, suggesting her father's love endures in new forms. "I hope you know that love like yours doesn’t end when a life does," she continued. "It changes shape."

She shared that she often imagines "the Black Sabbath frontman looking down on Sharon from Heaven." Addressing her mother directly, Kelly wrote, "I know he would want you to see yourself through his eyes: resilient, compassionate, courageous, and endlessly loving." She praised Sharon's grace in grief, adding, "Every day since he left, you’ve had to learn how to carry both grief and hope in the same heart, and somehow, you’ve continued to do it with extraordinary grace. He would be so incredibly proud of the woman you are becoming."

The letter also touched on Ozzy's broader legacy.

Kelly, who shares 3-year-old son Sidney with ex Sid Wilson, included her own little family in the tribute. "Sidney and I love you more than words could ever hold," she wrote. "He may not fully understand today, but he already knows what it feels like to be wrapped in your love."

She concluded with a promise of ongoing support for her mother through future milestones. "We will hold your hand when the days are too heavy," Kelly wrote, "celebrate your victories, sit with you in your sadness and remind you whenever you need reminding that love is still all around you."
