Kelly Clarkson joked about her exit from NBC during a performance at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas on Friday night (July 17).

While stroking a fan’s sequin jacket sleeve, the 44-year-old singer and host quipped, "I would get fired by NBC, but I don’t work there anymore. We are sad about [it because] it was a fun show."

She then playfully belted out, "No more HR meetings!" before explaining her colleagues’ alleged aversion to HR meetings with her. "I feel you need to get into it. You gotta protect everyone. Anyway, I don’t have to do it anymore,"

The Show's End

The joke comes as Clarkson’s daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, is set to end after seven seasons and more than 1,220 episodes. At the time, she said, "Our family life, the dynamic changed a bit, and it has changed for a minute now, so I think … it’s one of those things when you kinda start seeing life with how it is precious, too."

No further details about her next professional projects have been confirmed.
