On July 4, in Hampshire, England, a tragic road traffic accident claimed the life of Mason Haynes. The longtime celebrity bodyguard, known for his work with the Kardashian-Jenner family, was 52 years old.

According to a GoFundMe page launched by his family, Haynes died “in a tragic road traffic accident” just two days before he would have celebrated his 53rd birthday. The family described him as a “protector. A mentor. A prankster. A giant in every sense of the word, with an even bigger heart.”

A Life of Service

Haynes was a fixture in the world of high-profile security. He worked for Trojan Security UK and was most notably seen protecting Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, and Kanye West. Photos from 2015 and 2016 show the towering bodyguard alongside the famous family on various outings. His employer paid tribute on Instagram, calling him an “absolute legend in the Close Protection game” and writing, “Gone too soon. Rest easy and fly high Brother.”

The family’s tribute noted that “hundreds of messages” had “poured in” from “people whose lives Mason changed.” One friend “wrote that ‘the world has been robbed of that rare thing… a genuinely good man,'” while another stated his “greatest gift was his humanity.” The GoFundMe aims to “ensure Mason gets the send-off he truly deserves – a celebration of a life that touched so many people,” and to “help ease some of the immediate financial pressures that inevitably follows such a sudden and devastating loss.”

He is survived by his wife, Fay, his daughter, Brooke, and his son, Noah, who “were the centre of his world,” according to a family statement released through Hampshire Police. The family said they are “completely devastated by the loss” of their “gentle giant,” a man who “lived life to the full, loved deeply and made an indelible impression on everyone he met.”
