Maggie Sajak Is Jackson Olson's Biggest Fan as He Takes on 'DWTS'

How will a professional baseball player juggle a national tour and a live dance competition? Jackson Olson is about to find out, and his girlfriend Maggie Sajak is his biggest cheerleader.

Sajak, daughter of former "Wheel of Fortune" host Pat Sajak, expressed her full-throated support for Olson's upcoming stint on season 35 of "Dancing With the Stars." She spoke exclusively to USA Sports' Renee Montgomery at the ESPYs 2026 in New York on July 15.

"He crushes everything he sets his mind to," Sajak said of Olson, according to USA Sports. "I'm excited to see him crush it in the ballroom." She confirmed she plans to be by his side for the entire experience. "I'm just so excited to support him through this whole journey," she added. "It's going to be amazing."

A 'Bananas' Schedule

The journey will indeed be a logistical feat. Olson is a player for the exhibition baseball team the Savannah Bananas. He explained that he will be performing on "DWTS" while also playing regular games across the country.

He hopes his athletic background gives him a slight edge, but admits the actual dancing will be new territory. "It's definitely going to help a little bit with memorizing moves, but doing the actual moves? Well, that's going to be a little tough and a little getting used to," he continued. "I feel like I don't have any dance moves mastered. But once I get in the ballroom and get a little bit of my partner giving me some advice, I'll be good."

Sajak and Olson publicly confirmed their romance when she "hard launched" their relationship on Instagram in April. She will now have a front-row seat to his dance-floor debut alongside fellow celebrities Ciara Miller, Maura Higgins, and Guillermo Rodriguez, with more cast members yet to be announced.
