Blake Lively Reportedly Gets a Second Chance Ahead of Swift-Kelce Wedding
An olive branch in the form of an invitation may have repaired a fractured friendship. Not everyone on the guest list was so eager to attend.

A phone call bridged a gap that a messy legal battle had opened. According to a report in OK! Magazine on July 19, 2026, Taylor Swift and Blake Lively "spoken on the phone" after the "Lover" singer extended an olive branch by inviting her to the nuptials. The contact came after initial reports claimed Swift had snubbed Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, entirely.
The strain reportedly began when Lively's legal battle with her It Ends With Us costar Justin Baldoni dragged Swift into the drama, with the singer's private text messages being unsealed in court. In the aftermath, one source described Swift's mindset: "Taylor's in a different place now and she just wants to be around people she trusts and who bring her peace," The source added, "It's a shame because she and Blake really were close, but she doesn't think it's something that's going to be fixed. As far as [Taylor's] concerned, their friendship is done."
A Change of Heart
However, a separate source told Daily Mail that Lively is "on the cusp of getting a second chance." That source added, "Blake is slowly getting back into the fold now that Taylor is having a change of heart."
Meanwhile, NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley had a much simpler reason for his absence. "I thought it was gonna be a c--- show," Barkley said, adding that while he loves Travis and Jason Kelce, he prefers to avoid dressing up for such events.
