For a father, the instinct to rush to a sick child is primal. For Armando Rubio, that instinct hit a bureaucratic wall.

The '90 Day Fiancé' star shared a devastating update on Instagram Tuesday, revealing his 13-year-old daughter, Hannah, is in an intensive care unit in Phoenix, Arizona, after suffering a serious medical emergency. The crisis began when Hannah complained of not feeling well; Rubio noticed half her face was "droopy" and half her body "had no strength."

Doctors in their small Mexican town lacked proper testing equipment, so the family decided to take her to the US. Hannah's grandmother accompanied her via ambulance to Arizona, where doctors found blood in her brain. She was subsequently airlifted to a Phoenix ICU.

A Border Blockade

Rubio, however, has been unable to cross the border to be with her. He told Page Six he attempted to request a temporary humanitarian parole, but a U.S. Customs and Border Protection supervisor informed him those hadn't been granted since 2025. He and his immigration attorney are now pursuing a separate emergency request.

"Unfortunately, I can’t be there, which is the hardest part of it all," Rubio told fans in his video. He later shared with Page Six, "Every parent wants to be at their child’s bedside when they’re sick, and not being able to hold her hand or comfort her has been the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced."

Rubio, who is still in the process of obtaining a spousal visa, had previously posted an urgent plea to his followers, asking if anyone had contacts at a Mexican embassy or consulate to help secure a medical emergency travel visa.

The Family Scramble

Rubio is holding onto hope from afar. "I am doing everything within my power to be reunited with her because, more than anything, she needs her daddy, and I need to be with my little girl," he said.

In his social media posts, Rubio has referred to Hannah as "My baby girl," and asked followers to "Please send healing vibes her way." He added, "I’m honestly embarrassed to ask for help," but expressed gratitude: "Please only do what you can. Thank you for your love, prayers, and support."
