‘Scrublands’ Season 3 Confirmed as ‘Scrublands: Trust’ with New Cast and First-Look Images

The Australian crime drama Scrublands is officially returning for a third season, according to an exclusive report from Deadline. The new installment will be titled Scrublands: Trust.

Luke Arnold and Bella Heathcote will reprise their leading roles as investigative reporter Martin Scarsden and Mandy Bond, respectively. They are joined by new cast members Lincoln Younes and Danielle Cormack, with Sarah Roberts and Nicholas Bell also returning.

What is the plot of the new season?

Scrublands: Trust will jump the action back a decade from previous seasons. The synopsis reveals that Mandy Bond's past resurfaces when her former fiancé, Tom Molloy (played by Younes), is found dead, unearthing secrets she wants to keep hidden. Meanwhile, Martin Scarsden investigates the apparent suicide of his mentor, Max Fuller (Bell), a search that leads him into Sydney's criminal underbelly and a violent confrontation in the Blue Mountains.

When does filming start?

Production on the four-part season has already commenced in Sydney. The series is produced by Easy Tiger, based on Chris Hammer's bestselling novel Trust, and will air on Australian streamer Stan and broadcast network 9Network.
