Summer House Heads North for a Canadian Spinoff

Is the Hamptons share house getting a passport stamp? NBCUniversal announced on July 9 that a new spinoff, Summer House Canada, is officially in the works. The series will be filmed in Muskoka, Ontario, and is set to premiere on Hayu, NBCUniversal's international reality TV streaming platform.

The network's description says the show "will bring together a group of friends who escape to a shared house on summer weekends." It adds, "Known for its sprawling waterfront cottages and lively social scene, Muskoka sets the stage as relationships, careers and personal lives collide."

The news comes as the original Summer House enjoys a surge in popularity. The show recently concluded its milestone 10th season and earned its first-ever 2026 Emmy nomination, in the Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program category. For series O.G. Carl Radke, the nom felt like the ultimate validation after a decade of endlessly entertaining pool parties and bikini-clad beach romps. "It's a big testament to what we've been building and the team and everybody that comes together—it's a family," Carl exclusively told E! News hours after the Television Academy's announcement. "I'm really excited for everybody because it's not just us on the cast. It's everybody included that makes the show happen."

Part of that recent momentum stems from off-screen drama. The show has been in the spotlight amid a dating scandal involving former costars Amanda Batula and West Wilson, who confirmed their romance in March. While the specifics of the Canadian cast are still unconfirmed, the new spinoff aims to capture the same blend of friendship and friction in a distinctly Canadian setting.
