Netflix’s long-in-development animated Twilight series has begun casting for the voices of Jacob Black and his father, Billy Black, according to a report from AOL.com. The update marks the first significant movement on the project since it was announced two years ago.

Casting calls are specifically seeking Native American actors for the two major characters from the Quileute tribe. The description for Jacob asks for a male actor to voice the young teen, noting a vocal quality that is “youthful, inviting, and cheerful, exuding a happy-go-lucky demeanor with a husky tone.” For Billy, the production is looking for a male actor who sounds and appears to be in his late 40s to 50s, with a voice that conveys “kindness and wisdom.”

Filming for the voice work is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles from August 2026 through May 2027, according to the casting sheet. No prior voice-acting experience is required for the roles, with casting director Melissa Kostenbauder and associate Jake Warnecke reportedly considering actors with on-camera experience.
