“I want to be Donut in Dungeon Crawler Carl so bad,”
Laura Bailey has publicly pitched herself for a role in Peacock’s upcoming Dungeon Crawler Carl TV series. The Critical Role star made the pitch during a live edition of Collider’s Ladies Night show, according to a report from the outlet.
Bailey, who is currently reading the book series, immediately thought of the project when asked to cast herself and her co-stars in a show of their choice. She revealed her top choice is the character of Princess Donut, Carl’s sapient feline companion. "I want to be Donut in Dungeon Crawler Carl so bad," Bailey said.
Who else did Laura Bailey cast?
Bailey also had a role in mind for her fellow Critical Role member, Marisha Ray. She suggested Ray play Samantha. Bailey explained the inspiration came from a spoof Ray did, noting, "You did this little thing, like a spoof on Critical Role, and it was just your head on this little body, and you had a high ponytail." She then clarified the nature of the role: "I’m not going to spoil anything — she’s a sex doll."
Ray joked, "I’ll do anything. Look, Hollywood, I’ll do anything." She also said, "This has actually been the best pitch for me to read Dungeon Crawler Carl. Now I’m like, ‘Well, that sounds pretty good.’"
