Official synopsis of 'Stewie'

Kenan Thompson, Vanessa Bayer, and four other actors have joined the voice cast of the upcoming Family Guy spinoff Stewie, according to Variety and Deadline. The series, which will focus on the Griffins' diabolical toddler, was announced in March with a two-season order from Fox.

Seth MacFarlane will reprise his role as the title character and also voice a new classmate named Bean. The newly announced cast includes Saturday Night Live veterans Thompson and Bayer, The Rookie star Melissa O’Neil, Family Guy voice actor Mike Henry, and actors Aaron Lee and Jessica Lowe.

Who is playing what?

According to the reporting, each actor will voice a distinct character in Stewie's new, less-than-ideal preschool. Kenan Thompson will play Royal, a friend of Stewie’s with a skeptical attitude toward their adventures. Vanessa Bayer voices Morgan, Stewie’s teacher who prioritizes partying over supervision.

Mike Henry, who voices multiple characters on the flagship series, will play BJ, a gossipy classmate who is the son of Henry’s Family Guy character Bruce. Jessica Lowe is Caroline, a wannabe influencer and Stewie’s classroom rival. Melissa O’Neil voices Wanda, Stewie’s intellectual soulmate, and Aaron Lee is Skunk, the class’s elderly, opinionated turtle.

When does the show come out?

The series is slated to premiere on Fox during the 2027-28 broadcast season. Episodes will be available to stream on Hulu the day after they air. The show was created by MacFarlane and writer Kirker Butler, who also serves as showrunner.

Stewie follows the toddler after he is expelled from his old preschool and enrolls in a subpar new one. The official synopsis describes a miserable classroom that Stewie enlivens by using his gadgets to transport the group on wild adventures through space and time, turning boring school days into surreal escapades.

What is the show's connection to Family Guy?

Beyond MacFarlane and Henry’s involvement, the spinoff is produced by 20th Television Animation. The project represents a significant expansion of the Family Guy universe, centering on one of its most popular characters as the parent series continues into its 25th season.
