Joseph Lee and Sunita Mani Join Prime Video's 'Sex Criminals' Series Cast

Joseph Lee and Sunita Mani have joined the cast of Prime Video's upcoming series Sex Criminals, according to Deadline.

The two actors will take on significant recurring roles in the eight-episode adaptation of the cult Image Comics title. Lee is set to play Detective Franklin, while Mani will portray a character named Lucy.

Who else is in the 'Sex Criminals' cast?

They join previously announced leads Imogen Poots and John Reynolds, who play the central couple Suze and Jon. The ensemble also includes Pamela Adlon, BD Wong, Ayden Mayeri, and Ashleigh Cummings. Kumail Nanjiani, who co-created the series with Emily V. Gordon and Tze Chun, will also appear in a recurring role.

What is the 'Sex Criminals' series about?

The series adapts the comic written by Matt Fraction and illustrated by Chip Zdarsky, which was first published in 2013. The story follows Suze, a woman who discovers she can stop time when she has sex. She eventually meets Jon, who shares the same ability, and the pair decides to use their power to rob banks.

Tze Chun serves as the showrunner. Nia DaCosta will direct the first, second, seventh, and eighth episodes and also executive produces. The series is executive produced by Gordon, Nanjiani, Dani Melia, Chun, Dani Gorin for LuckyChap, Fraction, and Zdarsky.

Lee earned an Emmy nomination for his role in the Netflix series Beef. Mani is known for her breakout role as Arthie on the Netflix series GLOW.
