Dungeon Crawler Carl TV Series Casts Audiobook Narrator Jeff Hays as Princess Donut

Jeff Hays has been cast as the voice of Princess Donut in the upcoming Peacock TV series "Dungeon Crawler Carl." According to Variety, the announcement was made Thursday during the Penguin Random House panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

Hays is the narrator for all eight released books in Matt Dinniman's best-selling LitRPG series. His casting marks the first confirmed role for the live-action adaptation, which was ordered to series at Peacock last month.

Who is Princess Donut?

In the story, Princess Donut is a talking cat who wears a tiara. She belonged to the titular Carl's ex-girlfriend before an alien invasion forces survivors into a deadly, televised underground competition. Carl teams up with Donut as his partner to survive.

The series will be led by Chris Yost as writer and showrunner. Seth MacFarlane, Erica Huggins, and Rachel Hargreaves-Heald will executive produce through Fuzzy Door, with Dinniman serving as co-executive producer. The adaptation is from Universal Global Television.
