Ava Bunn Promoted to Series Regular in Scrubs Revival Casting Shake-Up

Ava Bunn has been promoted to a series regular for the second season of ABC's Scrubs revival, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Bunn plays intern Sam Tosh and will join original series stars Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, and Donald Faison as a regular in the coming season. Meanwhile, two actors from the first season, Joel Kim Booster and X Mayo, will not be returning. Booster played Dr. Kevin Park and Mayo played Nurse Raymond in recurring roles.

Who else is returning for Season 2?

The rest of the show's intern class—Jacob Dudman, David Gridley, Layla Mohammadi, and Amanda Morrow—will return in recurring roles. Other recurring players set to return include Michael James Scott as Nurse Dubois, Vanessa Bayer as HR rep Sibby, and Rachel Bilson as Charlie, a potential love interest for J.D. Original series actors Judy Reyes, John C. McGinley, Neil Flynn, and Robert Maschio will also recur, and Christa Miller will guest star.

When does the new season premiere?

The second season of the revival is set to premiere in the fall, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The season will continue to follow J.D., Elliot, and Turk as they lead and train the next generation of doctors at Sacred Heart Hospital.
