AMC Renews 'Interview with the Vampire,' Drops Creepy 'Queen of the Damned' Teaser

AMC’s acclaimed vampire drama is officially coming back for more. According to ComingSoon.net, the network has renewed Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire for a fourth season, which will be retitled Anne Rice’s Queen of the Damned. The renewal news arrived alongside a new, eerie teaser trailer for the upcoming season.

What is the new season about?

The fourth season will adapt Anne Rice’s 1988 novel of the same name, shifting its focus to the character Akasha, the original vampire queen. While an official synopsis hasn't been released, AMC's Chief Content Officer Dan McDermott teased high stakes. "We can’t wait to continue the journey with Queen of the Damned, one of the most iconic stories in Anne Rice’s mythology, and watch our established and beloved characters confront Akasha with their world, and ours, very much hanging in the balance," he said.

Who is involved in Season 4?

Hannah Moscovitch, a writer and executive producer on previous seasons, will step up as the new showrunner for Queen of the Damned. She will executive produce alongside Mark Johnson and Rolin Jones. The announcement was made during the San Diego Comic-Con Hall H panel for the show's third season, The Vampire Lestat. Panel attendees included executive producers Johnson and Moscovitch, and cast members Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, and Sheila Atim.

The show is currently riding a wave of critical success, described as one of the highest-rated series of the year on Rotten Tomatoes.
