The film is based on author James Byrne's novel Deadlock. It follows Desmond "Dez" Aloysius Limerick, an unconventional, multi-talented ex-operative. After a chance meeting where he saves a reporter's life, Dez stumbles across a vast conspiracy and must stop the forces trying to keep their secrets safe.
