Jay Baruchel Comedy 'The Stunt Driver' Acquired Ahead of TIFF Premiere

The comedy film The Stunt Driver has been acquired by Independent Film Company ahead of its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, according to Deadline. The company will release the film in U.S. theaters on September 25.

Directed by Michael Dowse, the film tells the true story of Canadian daredevil Ken Carter, played by Jay Baruchel. In the mid-1970s, Carter, a world champion stunt driver, attempts the impossible: a mile-long jump across the St. Lawrence River in a rocket car.
